310517 A leporello from around 1860 with women and men in traditional costumes, some quite gorgeous, from 12 provinces and cities of the Netherlands. Among them a maid, a bride, a fisherman and two orphans.
The delicate, hand-colored chalk lithographs, heightened with egg-white, mainly show festive clothes with hoods of various kinds. The 13 women, 2 men and 1 pair of children represent the various Dutch provinces. The costumes in detail: Eiland Marken, Friesland, Zeeland, Hindelopen, Noord-Brabant, Beijerland, Vollendam, Scheveningen, Amsterdam, Scheveningen again, Groningen, Noord-Holland, Vlaardingen, Amsterdam, Friesland and Groningen.
The handsome paperback, covered with red paper with embossed printing and golden diamond pattern, measures 101x68 mm. Covers slightly rubbed, spine replaced, internally in very good condition.
