Mock card "Poor daddy"
Mock card with an embossed frame. A tormented man with a sleeping cap and an infant in his arms, tugging at his beard: „You naughty spualling little pest, Without you I should be blest, You will not let me rest all night, Even to the morning light.“ Pull tab makes the over-slept father drive the spoon to and from the baby’s mouth.
The back of the card folds open to reveal the pulling mechanism. Wood was active from 1842 to 1905.
310527 J.T. Wood & Co., London. Color lithography. 138x92 mm. Circa 1860. 2 tiny tears, a very faint folding mark, otherwise very good conservation.
