Folding letter from 1830
Folding letter closed by a red heart: „Ich hab dirs einmal versprochen, Dich zu lieben ganz allein...“ (I promised you once to love you all alone...) Inside are 4 small folding back sheets arranged in a cross shape with verses on the front and with colorful ornaments on the back. They are followed by 2 little doors made of yellow paper, underneath are 4 hinged hearts made of pink paper with verses and flowers, revealing a vase of flowers. In our opinion, the love letter comes from Baden or Alsace.
310520 Ink and watercolor. 59x85 mm (closed), 167x248 mm (open). Circa 1830.
Somewhat stained outside, otherwise very good conservation.
