Hinged box "Beau Rivage
If luggage labels could talk! This one has a touch of luxury about it, even though you can't see the 5-star "Beau Rivage" hotel. It was opened in 1861 near the port of Ouchy on Lake Geneva. Today it belongs to the Sandoz Family Foundation and boasts of being one of the 50 best hotels in the world. For us mere mortals, this fine box, covered with bookbinder's cloth in cool blue and matching paper from Carta Pura, will do. In any case, there is enough space for the sophisticated sunglasses. So a start has been made.
The folding box is 21.5 cm wide, 9.5 cm deep, 4.5 cm high and stands on felt feet.
Each of these objects from Cornelia Kurtz's workshop is unique. Rummaged up by Cartobook in forgotten boxes and drawers, the individual paper antiques now enter the public domain and seem as fresh now as they did when they were made and distributed with care. And already their "second life" begins. Right here!
